 Walter Elias Disney (born in Chicago on December 5, 1901 – dead in Burbank on December 15, 1966) was an American animator, dubber, film producer, and entrepreneur. A pioneer in the American animation industry, he pioneered several developments in cartoon production. As a film producer, he holds the record for most Academy Awards earned and nominations by an individual, won 22 Academy Awards out of 59 nominations. He has received two Golden Globe Special Achievement Awards and an Emmy Award, among other accolades. A lot of his films are included in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress and have also been named among the best films ever by the American Film Institute. Disney was the first person to be nominated for Academy Awards in six different categories.
